Lady Gaga is currentl. eveloping her first fragrance—and, according to fashionista.com, industry insiders working on the project say the singer wants it to smell like "semen and blood."
Before you say ew, though, consider this...
Is Gaga's eau de bodily fluids really that shocking?
The controversy-courting popster wears meat dresses and straitjackets like it's no big deal, and she's been known to offend the Catholic church in her videos. So, whether it's true or not, blood and semen do fit right in with the Lady's offbeat aesthetics.
No doubt her Little Monsters will be all over it when the scent launches in spring 2012. And how about you—care for a spritz?
Lady Gaga Developing Her Own Line of Perfume Called Monster
There are rumors that it will smell like blood and semen.
Lady Gaga is developing a perfume line and is naming it after what she calls her fans, “Monster,” which she also has tattooed on her body. TMZ obtained documents saying that her first fragrance will be called Monster and the company launching the fragrance has filed trademark paperwork for the name “Monster” to use for a “perfumery.”
MTV reports that the fragrance will hit stores in 2012. She told MTV last November that “designing and putting out products is something that is very kind of funny when you’re a musician—‘cause I don’t want my fans or anyone to think that I don’t put the music first.”
E! News reports that rumors are going around that Gaga wants her new fragrance to smell like “blood and semen.” Well the singer does wear meat dresses, but how true are these rumors? Will her little monsters want to smell like blood and semen?
Lady Gaga Creating Fragrance That Smells 'Like Blood and Semen'
Celebrity perfumes are a dime a dozen. You can smell like Kim Kardashian, Posh Spice, Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon -- almost any Tinseltowner you like.
But Lady Gaga isn't your typical, sweet-smelling celeb. She's far, far from it. According to Fashionista.com, the shocking superstar is developing her first fragrance, and Mother Monster has reportedly requested that the scent "smell of blood and semen."
Hmm, bodily fluids haven't had as much success as, say, lavender or hibiscus in the world of fragrance, but Gaga is the queen of reinvention and pushing the envelope. And even though most of us probably don't think we want to smell like blood or semen, I bet this racy new product will sell out instantly around the world.
But Little Monsters, please take my advice and wait for Gaga's perfume to go on sale at a store near you. While making a miniature version of her meat dress might be pretty cool, a homemade concoction of blood and semen is not a scent you should purposefully try to recreate.
